Ronbus Ripple Pickleball Paddle Review
The Ronbus Ripple bursts into the pickleball paddle market with a combination of power, spin and control. Available in two shapes, the R1.14 (long) and R2.14 (widebody), the Ripple caters to all playing styles and will turn heads.
Unique Design and Construction
The Ripple’s most noticeable feature is the rippled texture on the raw Toray T700 carbon fiber face. This design is meant to grip the ball and maximise spin. Both paddles have a 14mm FIRE core, a 3D carbon fiber grid infused EVA core known for its power and responsiveness. Note that a 16mm core was originally planned but was delisted by USA Pickleball before it was released, so 14mm is the only option.
R1.14: The Elongated
R1.14 has an elongated shape with a rounded top, giving you more reach and a bigger sweet spot. 16.5” long and 7.5” wide face, plenty of surface area for consistent contact. 5.5” grip length and 4.125” octagonal grip circumference to fit all hand sizes. Weighs 7.8oz with a swingweight of 106 and twistweight of 5.33, a balance of maneuverability and stability.
R2.14: The Widebody
R2.14 has a traditional widebody shape, 16” long and 8” wide face, giving you a bigger sweet spot and more stability. Same grip dimensions and weight as R1.14 but slightly lower swingweight of 103 and higher twistweight of 6.19, more stable feel with slightly less maneuverability.
On-Court Performance: Power and Precision
The Ronbus Ripple is a power paddle. The 14mm FIRE core is lively and you can hit the ball hard. The rippled face texture delivers on its promise, lots of spin and control.
What makes the Ripple special is its control. Despite the power it’s got, it’s very precise. The combination of core and face texture gives you accurate placement and shot confidence. It’s a paddle for all levels, from beginner to pro.
Overall: A Ripple in Your Game
The Ronbus Ripple is a one of a kind and powerful paddle for players who want to take their game to the next level. The rippled texture and lively FIRE core makes it a paddle that’s good for power, spin and control. Although the 16mm core was delisted, the 14mm is still a great performer. Whether you prefer the reach of the R1.14 or the sweet spot of the R2.14, the Ronbus Ripple is a paddle that will make an impact on the court.
